JFS Develops GaN Power Module for AI Data Centers, Targets Pilot Validation by 2026
On December 4, 2025, Jiufengshan (JFS) Laboratory announced the development of a gallium nitride (GaN) power module. These modules, each about the size of a thumb, can be used in a 1-gigawatt AI compute cabinet, potentially saving nearly 300 million kWh of electricity annually, amounting to approximately CNY 240 million in power costs.
The technology has completed proof-of-concept and will enter pilot-scale validation, with mass production expected in 3-5 years. GaN technology reduces electricity conversion losses by up to 30% and decreases module size by 30%, enabling higher-density deployments.
JFS Lab has established partnerships with domestic power suppliers, with commercial orders exceeding CNY 10 million. The anticipated market opportunity for GaN power modules is valued in the hundreds of billions of yuan, reflecting significant growth potential in the sector.
