Kabupaten Bekasi Allocates Rp284.9 Billion for Village Development Amid Corruption Oversight

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Kabupaten Bekasi has allocated Rp284.9 billion for 179 villages in 2023, targeting infrastructure, public services, and community empowerment with an emphasis on transparency and accountability. This follows heightened scrutiny of village fund management due to corruption cases.

The local government plans to implement a new regulation on precision village data to enhance planning and execution of development programs starting in 2026. This data will guide all development initiatives to ensure they are accurate and relevant, minimizing overlaps between programs at different government levels.

A budget of Rp13.5 billion has been earmarked for data collection, which includes establishing a data center and employing enumerators. The initiative aims to address underlying development issues in villages and foster integrated growth across Kabupaten Bekasi.
