Kent has secured a Pre-FEED contract for the Eq.flight power-to-liquid Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project, funded by the UK Department for Transport's Advanced Fuels Fund. The project aims to develop a demonstration plant utilizing solid oxide electrolysis and nuclear energy to significantly reduce lifecycle emissions.

Key technologies include Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and reverse water-gas shift, with a goal of achieving a 90-95% reduction in carbon intensity compared to conventional jet fuel. The project aligns with the UK's SAF Mandate, targeting 0.2% SAF supply by 2028 and 4.5% by 2040.
