DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Keppel Ltd. has proposed a $10 billion AI data centre near the former Hazelwood power station, leasing 123 hectares of industrial land with direct access to the power grid and a non-drinkable water source. If approved, it will become Australia's largest AI infrastructure site, boasting a gross power capacity of up to 720 MW and leveraging local water and connectivity resources. The project aims to enhance employment opportunities in the region following the power station closures and is supported by local officials.
