Korean Government and KR Launch International Standards Initiative for Ammonia Effluent Discharge

Korea's KR and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries have initiated a working group to develop international standards for ammonia effluent discharge from ammonia-fueled ships. This follows a proposal at the IMO in 2024, which received approval in 2025. The group aims to submit draft standards to the IMO by 2027, enhancing Korea's role in global ammonia management discussions.
