KRICT Develops Process to Convert Landfill Gas into Sustainable Aviation Fuel
SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL
Researchers at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) have developed a process to convert landfill gas from organic waste into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), demonstrating the technology's viability with a pilot facility capable of producing 100 kilograms of SAF daily. In collaboration with Intocore Technology, KRICT's end-to-end process offers a practical solution for the aviation sector to reduce carbon emissions, as SAF generated from waste significantly lowers emissions compared to traditional jet fuel.
