Lemhi Supercomputer Enhances Research Capabilities for Idaho's Universities

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Lemhi supercomputer, a collaboration between Idaho National Laboratory and Idaho's public research universities, expands high-performance computing access for researchers at the University of Idaho, Boise State University, and Idaho State University. It replaces the Falcon supercomputer, offering significantly faster performance.

The system supports diverse fields including AI, energy, and health sciences, enhancing research capabilities and attracting talent. Lemhi is hosted at INL’s Collaborative Computing Center, with operations managed by the University of Idaho, and leadership expected to rotate among the universities.
