Lidl Establishes Massive Data Centers to Compete with Amazon and Microsoft

Lidl has begun constructing large data centers to enhance data security and compete with tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft. Nine years after recognizing data risks, the company is leasing its servers to major firms, including SAP and Bayern Munich, with the ambition to become the first independent European hyperscaler, according to Bernd Wagner, CEO of Lidl's cloud division, Stackit.
