Madras Fertilizers Ltd is set to invest ₹10,300 crore in a Greenfield Ammonia-Urea Complex in Chennai, aiming to produce 1.3 million tonnes of urea annually. The project, which aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, seeks to address urea shortages in South India and follows a record production and revenue increase in fiscal 2024-25. Execution of the project hinges on the restructuring of a Government of India loan, for which a proposal has been submitted.
