The Marana Town Council approved the rezoning of 600 acres for the Luckett Road hyperscale data center on Tuesday, utilizing up to 750 megawatts at full capacity. The project, internally known as the 'Jaguar West Project', faced public support and opposition during the council meeting.
Councilmember Herb Kai abstained due to a conflict of interest. The project aims to modify the 2040 General Plan and comply with a 2024 ordinance regulating data centers.
