Michigan lawmakers are considering a bill introduced by State Rep. Jimmie Wilson Jr. to rescind a $100 million grant for the University of Michigan's planned $1.25 billion data center in Ypsilanti Township, amid local opposition and calls for greater transparency.

The project has faced criticism for insufficient community engagement and allegations of misleading intentions following the University’s purchase of an additional 124 acres. The bill is currently under review by the Michigan House Appropriations Committee.
