Microsoft Delays Gaines Township Data Center Rezoning Meeting to March

Microsoft has requested a delay for the Gaines Township Planning Commission meeting regarding the rezoning of a 40.5-acre property for a data center. The public hearing, originally set for February 12, is now postponed to late March to allow Microsoft to update its rezone application and hold a community meeting.
The parcel at 7147 Patterson Ave. SE is part of a 316-acre site purchased for $45.3 million in October 2024.
