MOL Chemical Tankers Announces Leadership Transition with Tomoaki Ichida Succeeding Akira Sasa

MOL Chemical Tankers' CEO Akira Sasa will retire at the end of March 2026, succeeded by Tomoaki Ichida. Ichida, currently a managing executive officer at Mitsui OSK Lines, has led MOL's Americas business since April 2023.
Under Sasa, the company expanded its fleet and invested in alternative fuels, including ammonia. The firm has chartered six new chemical tankers from CMB.TECH, with deliveries expected between 2028 and 2029.
