Montgomery County, Missouri Considers 1,000-Acre AWS Data Center Campus
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Montgomery County commission is evaluating a proposal for a 1,000-acre Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center campus in New Florence, Missouri, which includes plans for 21 data center buildings and infrastructure improvements. The project is set to begin acquisition by Q1 2026, contingent on building permit approvals, amid mixed community feedback regarding its environmental impact. Additionally, a competing project, Project Spade, aims to develop 780 acres for three data centers nearby.
