NASA Unveils Athena, Its Most Powerful Supercomputer at Ames Research Center

NASA has launched its most powerful supercomputer, Athena, at the Ames Research Center, achieving over 20 petaflops of peak performance. Designed to address complex challenges in space and aeronautics, Athena is available to both NASA and external researchers as part of the agency's High-End Computing Capability initiative. The name was selected through a workforce contest in March 2025.
