NDSU Launches Legendary Harvest Project for Data Center and Greenhouse Colocation in North Dakota
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
North Dakota State University and Resource Innovation Institute have initiated the Legendary Harvest Project to explore colocating greenhouse food production with data centers. Supported by Applied Digital Corporation, the project aims to tackle year-round food production challenges and utilize data center waste heat.
The Polaris Forge 2 site in Harwood will be the primary study location, evaluating the feasibility of this colocation strategy. A final report is anticipated by mid-2026.
