New Jersey Senate Advances Bill for New Tariffs on Large Data Centers

The New Jersey Senate has advanced a bill to establish new tariff classes for large data centers consuming over 100MW monthly, aimed at safeguarding ratepayers from escalating costs. This legislation, which also promotes energy efficiency, has already passed the Assembly and awaits the Governor's approval before his term ends on January 20. Similar regulatory proposals are being considered in states such as Wisconsin, Ohio, Oregon, and Virginia.
