The North East has unveiled a £208 million transport investment plan as part of an £800 million initiative, which includes significant investments in Teesside Airport and nuclear projects. The airport is set to receive its largest private sector investment, creating 250 jobs, while £80 million from a £160 million investment zone will focus on generating 2,000 skilled jobs in digital and creative industries. Additionally, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a £16.7 billion commitment to nuclear power, enhancing the region's role in the UK's energy transition.
