Norwalk City Council to Consider $12 Billion Data Center Development Proposal Next Week
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Norwalk, Iowa, may approve a $12 billion data center project, known as 'Project West', at a city council meeting on March 5. The development would occupy 282 acres and could create around 600 construction jobs and 80 permanent technology jobs.
The estimated taxable valuation is between $400 million and $500 million, generating approximately $15 million annually in new taxes. The project aims to enhance local infrastructure without requesting tax incentives. A decision is expected at the upcoming council meeting.
