Oakland University is partnering with Fairmount Properties to develop a new 26-megawatt data center in Parking Lot 35, replacing its current facility in Dodge Hall. This project will support the expansion of research space and the establishment of a new artificial intelligence institute, with a feasibility study set to assess various factors before a business plan is presented to the university's board by summer 2026.
