Oppidan Investment Company has withdrawn its proposal for a data center development in North Mankato, Minnesota. The company decided not to proceed due to challenges related to obtaining permits for backup generators.

North Mankato's community development director, Michael Fischer, noted that discussions had not progressed beyond initial stages, and no specific details about the project were provided. Despite this setback, Oppidan continues to pursue other developments in Eagan and Apple Valley, Minnesota. The firm has been active in the data center sector since 2016, with recent projects including a 5MW facility in El Paso, Texas, and a 90,000 sq ft data center in Chicago, Illinois.
