Petrobras announced plans to fully restart ammonia and urea production at its fertilizer plants in Bahia and Sergipe by January 2026, following the resumption of ammonia production at the FAFEN-SE plant. The company aims to meet 20% of Brazil's urea demand by 2030, backed by a $1 billion investment in fertilizers from 2026 to 2030. Petrobras regained control of the plants in May 2025 and is also moving forward with plans to complete the UFN-III plant in Mato Grosso do Sul by 2028.
