Pine Island City Council Approves $36.58M Incentives for Project Skyway Data Center

The Pine Island City Council approved $36,578,343 in financial incentives for the Project Skyway data center, with a unanimous 5-0 vote. The incentives will be issued over several decades, while the city anticipates collecting over $131 million in new taxes during that period.

Developer Ryan Companies is required to create at least 38 full-time jobs with a minimum wage of $31 per hour. Despite community opposition, the council proceeded with the project.
