Prysmian to Double Optical Fiber Capacity in Romania for AI Data Centers

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Prysmian Group is set to double its optical fiber capacity at its Slatina factory in Romania to meet the growing demand from AI data centers. The facility, which exports 50% of its production to the U.S., will enhance its production of ribbon-type optical cables and introduce the 160-micron fiber, the thinnest available. Additionally, Prysmian is investing in Hollow Core Fiber technology to extend the distance between data centers significantly.
