DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
US investor QTS is set to invest €4 billion in building a hyperscale data center in Lippetal, NRW, by the end of the decade, covering 27 hectares in an industrial area near Hamm. The facility aims to address the growing demand for data capacity driven by cloud computing and AI, with plans to operate entirely on renewable energy, potentially creating 100 direct jobs. Local authorities will need to establish land use and development plans, a process expected to take around two years.
