RUSAL is adopting eco-friendly non-formed materials (NFM) for electrolyzer assembly, significantly cutting installation costs and enhancing material reuse. This innovation, derived from coal processing by-products, aims to be implemented in 5,100 electrolyzers by the end of 2025, reducing waste and disposal costs while achieving $13 million in savings. The technology is protected by 40 international patents and will account for approximately 80% of RUSAL's total electrolyzers across several smelters.
