Russia has offered to support Indonesia in developing its first nuclear power plant by 2032 to help reduce reliance on fossil fuels. During a visit by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Moscow, President Vladimir Putin highlighted the potential for nuclear energy cooperation, particularly through small modular reactors and floating power stations. Meanwhile, Indonesia is pursuing its nuclear ambitions with a US-backed feasibility study for a small modular reactor in West Kalimantan, collaborating with several international firms.
