RWE Begins Commissioning 100MW Phase of Lingen Green Hydrogen Plant in Germany
ELECTROLYZERHYDROGEN
RWE has commenced the commissioning of the first 100MW phase of its green hydrogen project at the Lingen gas-fired power plant in Germany, part of the larger 300MW Get H2 Nukleus initiative. The project, utilizing PEM electrolysers from ITM Power and alkaline systems from Sunfire, aims to start commercial operations in 2026, with hydrogen production expected to begin in 2027. RWE has secured a 15-year offtake agreement with TotalEnergies for 30,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually to supply the Leuna refinery, although there is a three-year gap until production starts.
