Sabah Secures RM1.4 Billion Investment for Integrated Biorefinery Complex to Produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Sabah has secured a RM1.4 billion investment from Petra Seaga to establish an integrated biorefinery complex that will convert palm oil residue and biomass into sustainable aviation fuel, biofuels, and bioplastics. This initiative aims to enhance the state’s economy by creating higher-value products and supporting advanced manufacturing, while adhering to circular economy principles. Additionally, the Southeast Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Council will set up its headquarters in Kota Kinabalu, further solidifying Sabah's position as a leader in sustainable aviation fuel.
