Sabah Supports Southeast Asia SAF Council HQ and $300M Biomass Investment in Kota Kinabalu

Sabah is supporting the establishment of the Southeast Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Council headquarters in Kota Kinabalu, aiming to become a regional hub for sustainable aviation fuel policies. Invest Sabah Berhad announced a potential $300 million investment from Petra Seaga in a biorefinery complex that will produce SAF, biofuels, and bioplastics from agricultural and forestry biomass. The state is also transitioning to a sustainable energy economy and will host a business event forum in February 2026 to enhance its competitiveness in the Asia Pacific region.
