Seosan City Secures KRW 668 Billion External Funding for 2026, Largest in History
Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province has secured KRW 668 billion in external funding for 2026, marking the highest ever in municipal finances, reflecting a KRW 32.6 billion increase from the previous year. The city surpassed its KRW 650 billion funding target through strategic persuasion of central government agencies and the National Assembly.
The budget includes projects for cultural and tourism infrastructure, such as the Hanwoo History Museum (KRW 17.8 billion), the Seosan branch of the National Gugak Center (KRW 30 billion), and the Haemi International Shrine Cultural Exchange Center (KRW 4.3 billion). Future industry projects include sustainable aviation fuel technology (KRW 311 billion) and an AI/IoT-based parking information system (KRW 690 million). Ongoing projects encompass eco-friendly lake development (KRW 19.8 billion) and the construction of Seosan Airport (KRW 48.4 billion).
