SiriNor Develops Electric Jet Engine for Drones by 2026, NASA and GE Aerospace Test Hybrid-Electric Technology

SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL

SiriNor, an Indo-Norwegian startup, is developing an electric jet engine for drones, targeting a mid-2026 launch and plans for commercial aviation by 2030. Meanwhile, NASA and GE Aerospace have completed ground testing of the Hybrid Thermally Efficient Core (HyTEC) project, which aims to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions in turbofan engines without onboard batteries, potentially enabling a 20% power extraction at cruise altitude. Full commercial maturity for these technologies may take up to a decade.
