South Korea's government has unveiled a plan to accelerate nuclear fusion technology, aiming for a demonstration reactor by 2035, with an implementation budget of 112.4 billion won. Key initiatives include significant investments in reactor design and artificial intelligence to enhance plasma control and data analysis, alongside the establishment of the Nuclear Fusion Innovation Alliance for collaboration among various sectors. Additionally, a 1.5 trillion won program will support infrastructure for superconducting conductor testing and the demonstration of fusion technologies.
