DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

In January 2024, Summit Utilities sought approval for a 23.4% rate hike, adding approximately $15.43 to customer gas bills, to address inflation, economic conditions, and aging infrastructure investment needs. The company operates over 23,400 miles of pipeline across six states, with 17,000 miles in its three-state service area.

Summit has also contributed to local economies, creating 300 jobs in Arkansas since 2022, and has been recognized for its community support, including hunger relief efforts. As winter approaches, Summit focuses on modernizing infrastructure through technologies like predictive analysis and advanced leak detection.

Despite challenges including regulatory pressures and labor shortages, the company remains optimistic about meeting growing energy demands driven by data centers and other factors. Future initiatives include smart metering and integrating artificial intelligence to enhance operations by 2026.
