Thea Energy Unveils Helios Fusion Plant Design for 390 MW Output

FUSION & ADVANCED NUCLEAR POWER

Thea Energy, based in New Jersey, has presented the preconceptual design for Helios, a stellarator-based fusion power plant with a target output of 390 megawatts. The design incorporates 12 large magnets and 324 smaller magnets to confine plasma for nuclear fusion.

The company claims that its approach enables the construction of a nuclear fusion power plant using current manufacturing, construction, and maintenance capabilities, without needing a significant scientific breakthrough. This initiative aims to advance the development of clean energy through nuclear fusion, which seeks to replicate the Sun's energy production process.
