Truman Estates Appeals Tower Hamlets' Rejection of London Data Center Project
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Truman Estates has appealed the rejection of its data center and housing project at the historic Truman Brewery site by Tower Hamlets Council, which includes plans for a 5,266 sqm data center and 44 homes, 11 of which are affordable. The Secretary of State for Housing, Steve Reed, has the authority to overrule the council's decision amid significant local opposition, including a petition with over 1,200 signatures citing environmental and infrastructure concerns. An alternative proposal suggests the site could support 350 homes instead.
