Sustainable aviation fuel startup Twelve has cut its workforce by nearly 50%, laying off 170 employees in two rounds due to challenges in establishing its first commercial production facility. The recent layoffs, which included 76 workers, follow an earlier reduction of 94 staff, as the company navigates policy changes and rising development costs impacting its carbon capture and conversion business model. A spokesperson emphasized that these layoffs are part of necessary structural adjustments in response to market conditions.
