Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board Delays Air Products Data Center Discussion to February
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board has postponed discussions regarding Air Products' proposed hyperscale data center until February. The project, located on a 194-acre site, aims to establish Lehigh's first data center complex with three buildings totaling 2.6 million square feet.
Concerns were raised during the meeting about the proposal's clarity regarding its impact on the power grid, water requirements, and cooling system specifications. Additionally, another data center project, referred to as 'Atlas Industrial', is under review near Parkland High School and is nearly twice the size of the Air Products proposal.
