DEFENSEDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The U.S. Army has finalized the implementation of data center as-a-service (DCaaS) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington. The U.S.
Army Network Enterprise Technology Command is set to authorize JBLM's transition to the new DCaaS environment shortly. The ALTESS product office within the Program Executive Office Enterprise developed the infrastructure to provide a virtual computing environment.
Enhancements to JBLM's data center include a backup generator, hot aisle containment system, 40-ton chillers, and new flooring. This initiative is part of a broader service-wide plan to transition to shared compute and storage services by 2026.
