The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center has deployed the Barfoot supercomputer at its Information Technology Laboratory in Vicksburg, Mississippi, featuring 212,000 compute cores to enhance military research, climate modeling, and simulations. Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient Col. Van Barfoot, the facility will also see an increase in backup power capacity through new generators in partnership with Entergy of Mississippi and the installation of mobile power generation units.
