US Plans to Double LNG Export Capacity Amid Rising Global Demand

The US plans to double its liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity in response to rising global demand, as announced by Mark Menezes of the United States Energy Association. Currently exporting over 3 million barrels of oil per day, the US has been a leading LNG exporter since 2016, serving around 48 countries with an average of 11.9 billion cubic feet per day projected for 2024. Menezes also emphasized ongoing energy cooperation with Türkiye, which includes nuclear energy initiatives.
