DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon are set to invest $650 billion in AI data centers this year, with plans to quadruple data capacity by 2035. Amazon aims to invest $200 billion by 2026, while Alphabet, Meta, and Microsoft plan $185 billion, $135 billion, and $130 billion respectively.

The Oracle Stargate consortium is also initiating a $500 billion data center project. Similar massive infrastructure investments have occurred historically, such as in railroads and highways. However, concerns about financial sustainability and potential market bubbles have arisen.
