Veri Energy Unveils Carbon Capture Plans for Sullom Voe Terminal in the Shetland Islands

Veri Energy, alongside Evero and Encyclis, presented carbon capture projects in a webinar hosted by Carbon Capture Journal. Veri Energy plans to transform the Sullom Voe Terminal in the Shetland Islands into a carbon storage and renewable energy hub, leveraging existing infrastructure and workforce.

The company has secured four carbon storage licenses with a capacity exceeding 500 million tonnes and aims for up to 10 million tonnes per year by 2033. Challenges remain due to funding constraints from the UK government.
