Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has launched the Cascadia Sustainable Aviation Accelerator at Paine Field, with a goal of making Snohomish County a leader in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development. The initiative, supported by $20 million in funding from the state and a private donor, aims to address the current low usage of SAF in the aviation industry and will facilitate research to enhance its adoption. A temporary facility is expected to open soon, with additional funding of around $40 million anticipated for its permanent establishment.
