West Virginia Introduces Tax Incentives for Coal-Powered Data Centers

West Virginia Senator Brian Helton has introduced Senate Bill 623, the 'West Virginia-Powered Data Center Incentive Act,' which offers tax incentives for data centers that utilize coal-generated electricity. To qualify, these centers must invest at least $50 million, create 50 jobs, and rely on coal for 80% of their operations. The bill is currently under review by the Committee on Economic Development and the Committee on Finance.
