Wisconsin Assembly Passes Nuclear Energy Incentives to Encourage New Power Plants
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTUREFUSION & ADVANCED NUCLEAR POWER
The Wisconsin Assembly has approved legislation providing two decades of tax incentives for new nuclear power plants, aimed at promoting a 'nuclear renaissance' amidst a surge in data center construction. The bill, which offers annual tax credits starting at $10,000 for the first decade, passed with an 86-11 vote despite concerns about the costs of nuclear facility construction. This move follows bipartisan support for nuclear energy initiatives, including a feasibility study and the establishment of a nuclear power summit board by Governor Tony Evers.
