Wrangell Economic Development Board Supports Greensparc's Small-Scale Data Center Lease Proposal

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Wrangell Economic Development Board has endorsed a land lease for California-based Greensparc to establish a small-scale data center on the former 6-Mile Mill property, pending evaluations of environmental impacts. The proposed 10,000-square-foot facility will use 1 to 2 megawatts of power and is expected to generate over $1 million annually for Wrangell's electric utility. The project features a closed-loop cooling system with no water discharge or emissions, while the borough is also considering backup diesel generators for industrial use at the site.
